Greenwood Lodge

Greenwood Lodge is a 17 bedded nursing home for service users with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health problems.
There is also a flat annexe that provides 2 bedded accommodations for 2 service users with learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
Greenwood Lodge is a large spacious house, set in a large, safe garden in the village of Bunny, Nottinghamshire the home has a staff team comprising of a manager, deputy manager, qualified nurses, care assistants, activities co-ordinator, domestic assistant and driver, who aim to provide a good quality of care, support and opportunity to ensure all needs are met. Greenwood Lodge has ground and 1st floor bedrooms which are decorated and furnished to individual tastes and requirements, the home has environmental adaptations which include a walk in bath, walk in shower, hoists, nurse call system etc. which enable staff to cater for all the needs of the service users.

The service at Greenwood Lodge is influenced by normalisation principles and is based on a person centred approach. Our aim is to promote a philosophy which enables service users to expect their individual rights will be protected and they will receive care based on an assessment of their individual needs.

Aims of the home:

• service users will be encouraged to maintain their independence

Service users: i.e. gender: mixed, age range 18-75+

Accommodation: 16 single rooms with sink 8 bedrooms upstairs, 8 downstairs and 2 in the annexed flat.

Accessibility: Walk in bath, walk in shower, hoists, nurse call system ground and first floor bedrooms

Transport: Greenwood lodge has its own private vehicle and driver. The vehicle is used for day to day activities and outings for the service user.

Local amenities: Bunny is situated about 5 miles from the city centre and has many shops, restaurants and takeaways that are within 2 miles. With access to a private vehicle there is never a problem of getting to where you want to go!

Staff team: The staff are trained to a very high standard. On each day shift there are seven staff and On the night shift 3 staff. There is a qualified nurse on duty 24 hrs. There is also a complement of ancillary staff i.e cook, domestic etc. Extra staffs are allocated as required to meet the needs of residents who require 1:1 or 2:1 ratios.

From Junction 25 take the ring road to Nottingham. Look for sign Grantham/Melton. Take A60 towards Loughborough till Bunny
