JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: REGISTERED HOME MANAGER
REPORTS: The Service Director.
JOB SUMMARY: To manage the home ensuring that a high standard of care is maintained at all times and meets the requirements of Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI).
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To work with the Directors in running the home in line with the philosophy of MGB Care Services and in meeting the CSCI Regulations.
2. To carry out / delegate any duties required in the smooth running of the home.
3. To participate as a member of the team providing for the overall needs of residents.
4. To assist and offer advice / guidance in all respects of care of the residents.
5. To ensure that all residents have an up-to-date care plan within the process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of needs.
6. Ensure that the residents benefit from occupational/recreational and remedial activities according to their likes and dislikes.
7. Ensure that reviews, etc. for residents take place on a regular basis and that all relevant parties participate.
8. Respect confidentiality with regard to residents, parents, relatives and colleagues.
9. Monitor and advise all staff on any inadequacies which may be detrimental to the services users safety and well being.
10. Highlight and inform the Training Manager of training needs of staff, through the use of Supervision and Appraisal system.
11. Set objectives for the staff/appraise and facilitate improvements through supervision and training.
12. To accept responsibility relevant to professional experience to assist staff to develop professional experience.
13. Work with Directors in formulation of and realisation of training for staff.
14. Ensure proper induction for new staff to their duties and responsibilities.
15. Ensure regular meetings for unqualified and qualified staff.
16. Keep up-to-date with regard to the Registration of Nursing Homes, pass knowledge on to staff teams.
17. To promote effective communication within the Home and with external agencies, e.g. C.S.C.I.
18. To promote and nurture professional relationships with all parents, relatives, neighbours, visitors and other professionals.
19. To be aware of and ensure awareness to staff of Fire, Health and Safety procedures and policies.
20. Ensure adequate supervision of staff and residents in line with Health and Safety regulations.
21. Ensure a safe environment at all times for residents and staff alike.
22. Prepare written/verbal progress reports for the Directors.
23. Ensure maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records/procedure, ensuring confidentiality.
24. Ensure compliance to budgets and endeavour to reach and maintain full occupancy levels for the house.
25. To assist the Directors in the development of MGB Care Services Limited.
26. Any other reasonable duties as delegated by the Directors.
